Brian Whittingham

Another excellent masterclass from Brian Whittingam, on Tuesday night. Concentrating on the importance of immersion in your subject, the evening concluded with work poems from the floor by (among others) Ingrid Lees, Charlie Gracie, and Frances Corr.

Brian set us all the future project of writing a poem entitled Dear Me, addressed to our younger selves. He also revealed the surprising statistic that 98% of his poems are written in the third person – quite unusual, if you think about it.

And fine poems they are too.
