Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Scottish Writers’ Centre. Whether you wish to renew or are joining us for the first time we would like to thank you for your interest in supporting the Scottish Writers’ Centre and being a part of Scotland’s literary community.
Our events programme for 2016 is hot off the press with masterclasses, seminars, talks and workshops. Scottish Writers’ Centre events are funded through Glasgow Life, Glasgow City Council, CCA:, and the Scottish Book Trust. These events are varied to support and promote all writers at every stage in their careers, to include all genres of writing, and features writers who are experimenting across disciplines. We want you to be part of Scotland’s vibrant literary community and invite you to renew or register for membership and join us at our upcoming events. We need your support now more than ever.
We will begin to accept applications on April 1, 2016. Our yearly membership allows you to attend:
- Two events per month
- Our partnership event with Aye Write at the Mitchell Library
- Our Speakeasy’s where emerging writers and new writing is explored
It’s an exciting time to be a member of the Scottish Writers’ Centre as we strive towards our goal of becoming the literary voice of Scotland. Membership contributions are used towards the costs of office supplies and administration costs to facilitate our yearly Programme of Literary Events. The great news is that membership costs no more this year than last year at £15 for members and a £10 concessionary rate for students and the unwaged.
Please note that memberships are not available online or by phone. Under the guidance of our new Chair, Ruby McCann, we are excited to be working on a strategic plan to allow for this in the future and members will be notified as soon as this becomes available. Members will still be able to buy Memberships at events and by mail. We recommend arriving early at events. If you are buying at the door: Door rates are £6 and £3 Concession (for students and unwaged).
The membership form can be found here. This form should be printed out, filled in, and mailed to the address on the form with payment by cheque or postal order made out to the Scottish Writers’ Centre. Please do not send cash by mail.
Alternatively, the membership form can be brought to the next event you attend, along with the membership fee. Membership forms are also available at events, simply ask one of our volunteers Events Team.
If you have any questions, please contact us at email@example.com.
We value your support as a member, and look forward to seeing you at our next event. Please introduce yourself!
