Orla Makes the Cut

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Some great news came in today for one of our members; Orla MacDonald has been shortlisted for the James Plunkett Award, which is among Ireland’s most prestigious prizes for short story writers. And not only that, but the shortlisting is for Leda Reads Milo, which Orla read (in full) at the SWC Spring Speakeasy. So in Orla’s words, “My story first fell on Glasgow ears!”.

We are honoured, indeed, to have helped our Hibernian cousin on the ladder to stardom. Encouragement to everyone out there, we’re sure you’ll agree.

Keep trying, keep observing, keep learning, keep writing.
